Don't Stress - Lets Bounce

Stress Awareness Month

April is Stress awareness month and this year’s campaign is all about supporting and encouraging individuals to act and make the changes needed in everyday life to help manage their mental health and wellbeing. #actnow

What is Stress?

Stress is first and foremost a physical response, and when feeling stressed our body starts to produce a mix of chemicals and hormones, to prepare us for dealing with potentially dangerous situations. This is not necessarily a bad thing however, the real challenge when our body goes into stress mode is that our brain functions diminish, and this can lead to the inability to think straight. Being in a long period of stress is bad for our health and can lead to insomnia, stomach upset, or even high blood pressure, diabetes, and other life-threatening conditions.

Fortunately, there are ways you can take control of your health and wellbeing and one of the most beneficial things is to engage in regular exercise.

Managing Stress

Stress manifests in different ways for everyone, but there are many ways in which we can take action to reduce our stressful lives, these include exercise, eating healthily and taking time to relax.

The most crucial thing you can do when you are stressed or anxious is to make sure you are continuing to look after yourself. Make time to relax when you need to and learn to say no to requests that are too much for you.

Top Tips

  1. Talk about stress and its effects openly and freely.
  2. Share your coping mechanisms – if something has worked for you why not share it.
  3. Be nice – we are all going to experience stress and anxiety in our lifetime so treat others going through it with compassion and empathy.
  4. Look after yourself – Take time to relax or do something that you enjoy.

Exercise can be Fun

Bouncing at one of our inflatable theme parks is not only a great stress reliever, it’s also fun to do so doesn’t even feel like exercise. Therefore you are much more likely to make it a regular activity and the win win is that it will also help to calm your mind and boost your mood, improve blood flow and increase endorphins.

You can book your inflatable bounce session online and don't forget to pick up a loyalty card from reception.

Enjoy!
